ClearRay Alkalinity Up is designed to raise the total alkalinity of your hot tub water. The total alkalinity of spa water should be maintained between 80-150ppm as determined by a suitable test kit. Maintain the pH within the designed range of 7.2-7.8.
ClearRay Alkalinity Up is fast acting, 100% soluble, and helps to eliminate pH bounce.
When the pH value of a spa/hot tub water fluctuates from low to high and back again in a short time, requiring continual corrective doses of soda ash or acid, it is usually the result of low total alkalinity condition of the water. A low total alkalinity value may result either from very low alkaline water at the source, or from chemicals reactions of alkaline material in the water with other chemicals which have been added to the spa/hot tub. In either event, the condition is easily corrected by using this product to maintain the total alkalinity of the spa/hot tub water between the values of 80-150 ppm.
To Increase the Total Alkalinity: Determine the level of the total alkalinity by the use of a suitable test kit. If the value is below 80ppm, add sufficient ClearRay Alkalinity Increaser Up to increase the total alkalinity to at least 80ppm. 2.5 Tablespoons of this product will increase the total alkalinity approx. 10ppm in a 500-gallon spa. Wait several hours for this product to be distributed uniformly before rechecking total alkalinity level. Repeat as needed.
If you want to raise your TA 10 ppm-Add 1.25 tablesppons per 250 gallons of water, or 2.5 tablesppons per 500 galls on water
If you want to raise your TA 20 ppm-Add 2.5 tablesppons per 250 gallons of water, or 5 tablesppons per 500 galls on water
If you want to raise your TA 30 ppm-Add 1/4 CUP per 250 gallons of water, or 1/2 CUP per 500 galls on water
Please note they use this bottle for most products, the fill line differs pending the product weight.
